Human activity is quite obviously directly linked to the emissions. Within densely populated areas, the amount of these greenhouse gasses being released into the atmosphere is just as dense. Areas such as the Eastern United States have a much larger density, with an increased amount of carbon dioxide production located in the very same area. Furthermore, unnatural methane production rates are higher in the locations with more people living there. It is indisputable what the cause of the warming of our planet is: ourselves.
Learn MoreGreenhouse gas emissions from industry primarily come from burning fossil fuels for energy, as well as greenhouse gas emissions from certain chemical reactions necessary to produce goods from raw materials. Industrial emissions are the third largest source of direct emissions.
Learn MoreThe researchers estimate that the world’s
emissions of carbon dioxide will exceed 40 billion tons in 2023,
including nearly 37 billion tons from fossil fuels. Overall emissions
are up 1.1% compared to 2022 levels and 1.5% compared to pre-pandemic levels, continuing a 10-year plateau.

Wildfires are also affected by climate changes, the amount of land scorched by wildfires has increased due to climate change. From 1971-2021, a 172% increase in burned forest land has been found.
An increase in the number of landslides and rockfalls has been noticed due to climate change. This increase is due to global warming melting away permafrost, this leads to increased landslides in regions that contain permafrost.
Currently, there are about 20,000 recorded earthquakes per year, and the number may very well increase due to climate change. Glob warming is causing an increase in sea levels by melting glaciers, and the excess water puts pressure on the seafloor, making it more prone to faults.
Climate change also increases the amount and intensity of droughts worldwide. Since 2000, the amount of droughts observed has increased by 29%, this has catastrophic effects on many people, causing a loss in the global economy of about 124 billion USD and exposing almost 160 million children to severe droughts.
With the monsoon rains and raised sea levels, Pakistan was devastated by floods in 2010. Over ten million displaced from their homes, and a death toll of about two thousand, it hit hard and its impacts remained for a long time after. Many were forced to migrate to survive.
With areas already being prone to flooding, climate change and the rise of sea level surely did not help. Hit by a monsoon, towns were quickly filled with water. There were at least thirty one deaths, others left stranded. Landslides were abundant. Many areas were hurt by these floods.
Argentina, already being prone to flooding, was greatly impacted by climate change as well. Floods became more rampant, one being the La Plata flood in April 2013. Eighty nine people lost their lives, with over thirty five hundred thousand being affected from the floods
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
Energy Usage
If given the option, switch to an energy provider using renewable sources of energy or install solar panels. Consider using energy-efficient appliances
Walk, bike or take public transport
There are many options to get where you need to be without using a car!
Reduce, reuse, repair and recycle
Limit your waste, don't toss it out. Think about the 4Rs
Be Vocal
The best way for us to reverse climate change, is global action. Be vocal about what we as a society must do to save our world now for future generations
